Experience Range: 18 to 30 Years (Minimum 10 years in surgical leadership or head-of-department role preferred)

Salary Range (INR): ₹50,00,000 – ₹1,20,00,000 per annum (Depending on hospital size, specialty, and city tier)

Education:

MBBS + MS / DNB in General Surgery or a Surgical Specialty (Mandatory)

M.Ch. / Super-specialty training (Preferred for high-end surgical units)

Valid registration with Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council

Fellowship in Surgery / Laparoscopy / Robotic Surgery (Desirable)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all surgical departments including general and specialty surgery units

Oversee surgical protocols, patient safety, quality control, and infection control compliance

Supervise senior surgeons, residents, and nursing teams in the OR

Evaluate new surgical technologies, techniques, and drive innovation

Ensure adherence to national/international standards (e.g., NABH, JCI)

Participate in complex surgeries and high-risk case reviews

Collaborate with hospital leadership for strategic planning, budgeting, and capacity building

Drive continuous improvement, training, and clinical governance initiatives
