Experience Range: 2 to 6 Years (preferably in medical coding within a hospital or third-party billing setup)

Salary Range (INR): ₹3,00,000 – ₹7,00,000 per annum (depending on qualifications, certifications, and hospital scale)

🎓 Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences / Paramedical / Nursing / Healthcare Administration (Mandatory)

Certification in CPC (AAPC), CCS (AHIMA) or ICD-10/CPT coding (Preferred & often required)

Working knowledge of HIS, RCM, and EMR/EHR systems is desirable

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on physician documentation and medical records

Review patient charts to ensure coding reflects procedures, diagnoses, and services rendered

Coordinate with medical staff for clarification and proper documentation when needed

Ensure coding compliance with hospital policies, payer rules, and government regulations

Support clean claim submission by reducing coding errors and preventing insurance denials

Maintain coding logs, quality audit reports, and productivity trackers

Assist with training junior coders and staying up-to-date on code changes and payer policies

Work closely with the billing team to support timely and accurate reimbursement

Contribute to NABH/JCI audit preparation through coding accuracy and documentation standards

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient health and billing information

🛠️ Key Skills:

ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS Coding Expertise

Knowledge of RCM (Revenue Cycle Management)

Familiarity with Medical Terminology & Clinical Documentation

EMR/HIS Software Proficiency (e.g., Insta, Medisoft, e-Hospital)

Insurance Claim Support & Denial Prevention

Coding Quality Audits

Attention to Detail & Analytical Skills

Compliance with Coding Guidelines (AAPC, AHIMA)

Strong Communication with Clinicians & Billing Teams

Data Accuracy & Confidentiality
