Experience Range:
2 – 5 Years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, particularly in process development, scale-up, or equipment engineering support in formulation or API units.
Salary Range (INR):
₹5 – ₹10 Lakhs per annum (based on experience, expertise, and location)
Educational Qualification:
Mandatory: B.E. / B.Tech – Chemical Engineering / Pharmaceutical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
Preferred: M.Tech / M.S. in relevant disciplines; training in GMP, QbD, or process engineering is a plus
Role Overview:
The R&D Engineer supports development, optimization, and scale-up of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment, working closely with formulation scientists, production, and validation teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and optimization of new pharmaceutical processes (formulation/API)
Conduct equipment trials, process simulations, and scale-up studies
Evaluate process parameters for batch consistency, yield, and regulatory compliance
Work with formulation scientists to translate lab processes into pilot/manufacturing scale
Document experimental data, engineering protocols, and process development reports
Support validation and qualification of equipment and processes
Ensure adherence to GMP, EHS, and engineering compliance standards
Coordinate with QA, QC, production, and maintenance teams for smooth tech transfer
Analyze deviations and support root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA implementation
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and utilities
Familiarity with cGMP, ICH, and regulatory norms
Experience with scale-up, batch documentation, and process troubleshooting
Basic understanding of QbD, DoE, and statistical analysis
Good technical documentation and problem-solving skills
Team player with ability to work in cross-functional environments
Hands-on exposure to process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB) is a plus
