Role Objective:
The GM (Training & Development) will oversee the design, development, and implementation of the organization's learning and development strategies. The role aims to build a strong, capable workforce by ensuring that training initiatives are aligned with business goals, enhancing employee performance and overall productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the training and development strategy in alignment with organizational objectives
- Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) and design comprehensive training programs
- Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of training across all levels (from shop floor to senior management)
- Identify, evaluate, and partner with external training vendors and institutions
- Develop leadership development programs, succession planning initiatives, and career progression frameworks
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting knowledge sharing and upskilling initiatives
- Measure training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and ROI analysis
- Monitor and manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery
- Oversee the e-learning platforms or digital learning systems
- Act as an advisor to senior leadership on workforce development, talent management, and organizational learning initiatives
- Collaborate with HR teams to ensure training interventions are linked to performance management and employee career development
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in strategic training and leadership development
- Ability to design and implement blended learning solutions (classroom, e-learning, on-the-job training)
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Proven track record of managing training budgets and large-scale learning projects
- Strong stakeholder management experience, especially in liaising with senior leadership
- Data-driven approach to assess training impact and ROI
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in manufacturing training needs (technical, operational, safety)
- Familiarity with LMS tools (Learning Management Systems)
- Understanding of change management principles and their application in training
- Exposure to HR analytics and workforce competency mapping
