Experience Range: 0 to 5 Years (Freshers with training or experienced phlebotomists preferred)
Salary Range (INR): ₹1,50,000 – ₹3,50,000 per annum (based on experience, shift duties, and collection workload)
Education:
Diploma / Certificate in Phlebotomy / Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / CMLT / B.Sc. MLT) (Mandatory)
Training in Blood Collection Techniques & Biosafety (Preferred)
Knowledge of Biomedical Waste Management Rules (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Collect blood samples using venipuncture or capillary techniques from inpatients, outpatients, and home patients (if applicable)
Verify patient identity, label samples correctly, and maintain chain of custody
Ensure sterile technique and safety protocols during sample collection
Prepare and transport collected specimens to the laboratory in compliance with biosafety standards
Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and collected samples
Monitor inventory of collection supplies and report shortages to supervisors
Educate patients on the procedure, especially for special tests (fasting, etc.)
Handle pediatric, geriatric, and anxious patients with compassion and care
Maintain cleanliness of the collection area and dispose of biomedical waste properly
Report adverse reactions and incidents immediately to the lab-in-charge
