Job Title: Export Control Specialist

Salary Range (INR):

₹8,00,000 – ₹20,00,000 per annum (based on experience and complexity of export controls handled)

Education Qualification:

Mandatory: Bachelor's Degree in Law / International Trade / Regulatory Affairs / Life Sciences

Preferred: LLM or MBA in International Business / Compliance

Certification in Export Compliance (e.g., ECO Certification, ITAR/EAR Training, DGFT/EXIM Certification) is advantageous

Manufacturing / Corporate Locations: Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with export control laws and regulations such as India’s DGFT regulations, Foreign Trade Policy, Customs Act, WCO, ITAR, EAR, and global sanctions (OFAC, EU, UN)

Classify pharmaceutical products, chemicals, APIs, and dual-use items as per HS codes, SCOMET, and other export classifications

Manage licensing processes including obtaining export licenses, authorizations, and regulatory permits from DGFT, RCMC, and MOEF/ENVIS

Conduct due diligence and restricted party screenings of international customers, partners, and vendors

Collaborate with Legal, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality teams for export documentation (COAs, MSDS, shipping docs, BoE, invoices)

Develop and implement export compliance policies, SOPs, and internal control programs

Train internal stakeholders on export control regulations and trade compliance procedures

Monitor changes in global trade compliance regulations and update internal processes accordingly

Respond to export compliance audits, inspections, or investigations from authorities or clients

Key Skills Required:

Strong understanding of Indian and international export control laws, including DGFT, SCOMET, ITAR, EAR, and WCO frameworks

Knowledge of pharmaceutical trade and regulatory documentation

Experience with compliance audits, internal controls, and risk assessments

Detail-oriented with strong documentation and classification skills

Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams

Familiarity with compliance software and screening tools (e.g., SAP GTS, Amber Road, Descartes)
