Experience Range:

Salary Range (INR):
₹5 – ₹10 Lakhs per annum (depending on experience, region, and company size)
Educational Qualification:
Mandatory: B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Industrial Engineering
Preferred: PG Diploma / MBA in Materials Management or Supply Chain
Certification in SAP MM / Procurement Analytics is an added advantage
Role Overview:
The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring engineering items, utilities, spares, and capital equipment required for pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring timely availability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for engineering items, machinery, and spares
Procure utilities like HVAC components, cleanroom materials, and calibration tools
Issue RFQs/RFPs, negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines
Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams for technical specs
Prepare purchase orders (POs) and maintain purchase records in ERP systems
Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and responsiveness
Ensure adherence to quality standards, cGMP, and regulatory requirements
Support capital procurement projects, including machinery installation timelines
Evaluate cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing or volume deals
Ensure accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and internal reviews
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of engineering goods and pharmaceutical utilities
Proficiency in procurement processes, cost analysis, and vendor management
Hands-on experience with ERP tools (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle, MS Dynamics)
Understanding of pharma equipment validation, documentation, and compliance
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple purchase cycles and urgent requirements simultaneously
Awareness of pharma-specific standards for machinery, materials, and vendors
