Salary Range (INR): ₹22 – ₹35 Lakhs per annum (depending on experience, plant scale, and location)
Educational Qualification:
Mandatory: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
Preferred: M.Tech or Postgraduate Diploma in Plant Engineering / Utility Management / EHS
Role Overview:
The Senior Manager – Maintenance is responsible for managing end-to-end maintenance operations in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setup. This includes ensuring equipment uptime, compliance with regulatory standards, and managing preventive and breakdown maintenance for engineering systems and utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily maintenance of critical equipment and utility systems (HVAC, AHU, WFI, RO, steam, compressors, etc.)
Implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance schedules
Ensure timely calibration, qualification, and validation of engineering assets
Lead maintenance readiness for inspections (USFDA, WHO, MHRA, EU-GMP, etc.)
Maintain GMP-compliant documentation: SOPs, maintenance logs, deviation reports
Work closely with QA, Production, and EHS teams for seamless plant operations
Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for service, spares, and equipment upgrades
Optimize energy consumption and drive cost-effective maintenance practices
Ensure strict adherence to EHS standards and handle engineering CAPAs
Lead a team of engineers and technicians; ensure skill development and performance management
Key Skills & Competencies:
Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical equipment, utilities, and cleanroom systems
Strong familiarity with GMP, regulatory audits, engineering documentation
Experience in handling HVAC, WFI, BMS, DG sets, and PLC/SCADA systems
Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like SAP PM or Maximo
Strong analytical, leadership, and project execution skills
Ability to manage cross-functional coordination and engineering troubleshooting
Knowledge of energy-saving practices and engineering safety standards
