Experience Range: 2 – 5 Years of hands-on experience in equipment and utility maintenance within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Salary Range (INR): ₹3.5 – ₹8 Lakhs per annum (depending on experience, skill level, and plant location)

Educational Qualification:

Mandatory: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering

Preferred: Postgraduate Certificate in Utility Management / Industrial Maintenance (optional)

Role Overview:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for carrying out daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of plant equipment and utilities to ensure smooth and GMP-compliant production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery, HVAC, and cleanroom systems

Operate and maintain utility systems (WFI, RO, steam boilers, chillers, air compressors)

Maintain daily engineering logs and maintenance records as per SOPs

Assist in equipment installation, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and calibration

Ensure readiness of equipment during regulatory audits (USFDA, WHO, MHRA, etc.)

Support automation and instrumentation maintenance as per GMP standards

Monitor spare parts inventory and inform seniors of requirements

Adhere to EHS, cGMP, and engineering compliance requirements during all activities

Report equipment downtime and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action

Key Skills & Competencies:

Technical knowledge of pharmaceutical utilities and production equipment

Hands-on experience with HVAC, WFI, AHU, RO, and BMS systems

Understanding of GMP documentation and maintenance SOPs

Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo – preferred)

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Good team collaboration and communication skills

Awareness of plant safety protocols and energy-efficient practices
