Salary Range (INR): ₹15 – ₹25 Lakhs per annum (depending on experience, role scope, and location)
Educational Qualification: Mandatory: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
Preferred: M.Tech / Diploma in Plant Engineering, Utility Management, or EHS
Role Overview:
The Manager – Maintenance is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted availability of plant machinery, production equipment, and utility systems by implementing best-in-class maintenance practices aligned with GMP and EHS norms.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and utilities
Ensure effective functioning of HVAC, AHU, WFI, RO, chillers, DG sets, and cleanroom equipment
Handle equipment qualification and calibration activities in coordination with QA and validation teams
Maintain engineering documentation as per GMP and audit requirements
Ensure maintenance compliance during regulatory inspections (USFDA, WHO, MHRA, etc.)
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation issues
Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors/OEMs
Implement CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) for maintenance tracking and reporting
Lead a team of engineers and technicians; schedule shifts and assign tasks
Support energy management, cost-saving initiatives, and EHS programs
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical utilities and equipment
Working knowledge of GMP, cGMP, and engineering audit protocols
Hands-on experience in HVAC systems, water systems (RO, WFI), and automation
Familiarity with CMMS tools and engineering documentation
Ability to manage cross-functional coordination and technical troubleshooting
Effective team leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of energy efficiency, safety, and compliance norms
